We are a small community church, seeking Jesus together. What will you find here? People who have questions just like you. What is life really all about? Where do I belong? What is my purpose? We come as we are, lifting up our cares, our burdens, our praises and thanksgivings.
We gather on Sundays, some of us in our blue jeans and some in our Sunday suits, to worship the God who loves us just as we are. We are a Jesus centered church that believes:
The Bible is the inspired Word of God
Jesus is the Son of God who was sent to die in our place for the forgiveness of our sins
Jesus rose again the third day and is seated at the right hand of God
By the power of the Holy Spirit we are transformed from glory to glory as we are surrendered to his work in us
We are called to joyful fellowship with other believers, to love and encourage one another "as long as it is called today".
"Come and see." This is Jesus invitation to all of us, and our invitation to you.
Our Pastor Joanne Thomas
Pastor Joanne comes to NSBC as a stop on her long journey with Jesus. Right now she is a student at United Theological Seminary, where she is busy learning and unlearning and relearning much about the "faith once delivered to the saints."
A retired educator, she is married to Ed, a retired commercial photographer, and has a son Aaron who is an organic farmer, and a married son Ben, a musician in the Air Force who lives in Maryland with his wife Caitlin. She enjoys gardening, watercolor painting, and hiking when she can. An avid reader, in her "spare time" she is currently reading about the ways that Holy Spirit is teaching the church today to heal body, mind, and spirit . After having grown up in Western Massachusetts, and lived in Connecticut for many years, she and her husband currently make their home on a hillside in Westmoreland New Hampshire. She is pleased to be serving the saints at North Springfield Baptist Church!
